Researchers’ night to celebrate 10th anniversary across Europe

The European Commission has announced the first details for the ten-year anniversary of European Researchers’ Night.

The initiative, which takes place as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, will this year have a theme of ‘Science is wonder-ful’ and be held on 23 September 2015. Events will take place throughout Europe, in both EU and non-EU member states.

According to the Commission, the event aims to “bring researchers and research projects to the attention of a wider audience on a single evening”. This year’s particular events will highlight the best experiences from events over the last decade, in addition to featuring leading projects by researchers funded by MSCAs “in an entertaining way”.

Also taking place are behind-the-scene tours of science labs, interactive scientific shows and attractions, and practical experiments and workshops. The event is free to attend and is open to the public, including families and schools.
