Arizona University prepares for H2020 event

The University of Arizona Medical Center is preparing to hold a special event on the EU’s research and innovation framework programme next week.

The event, to be held at Marriott University Park hotel in Tucson, will include talks from Dr James P Gavigan, head of the research and innovation section at the Delegation of the European Union to the USA, and Dr Franck Poupeau, senior researcher at France’s Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique.

The event will focus on the benefits of Horizon 2020 and is emphasising that the international collaboration is “crucial to solving global societal challenges” and the research programme is “open to investigators from around the world”. The morning event on 20 November will provide details on the framework programme, how to participate, and information on the seven Societal Challenges.
