EIT Digital announces new Stockholm Node head

EIT Digital has revealed the appointment of Göran Olofsson as the new node director in Stockholm, Sweden.

Welcoming the appointment, EIT Digital CEO Willem Jonker said: “We are pleased to have Göran Olofsson coming onboard as Node Director to further drive the development of our Swedish Node.

“Göran brings with him a lot of expertise in R&D management and how to drive innovations to the market. At the same time, I like to express my thanks to Gunnar Landgren for his efforts in the establishment and development of EIT Digital, both at the European level as well as in Sweden.”

Olofsson has more than 16 years’ experience in R&D and innovation in the telecommunications sector, including various management roles and as board member of several EIT Digital partner organisations. At the time of his appointment in August, Olofsson was the CEO and co-founder of LocuSense, a spin-off company from SICS Swedish ICT research, with intellectual property rights for indoor positioning and asset tracking.

Olofsson was previously involved in the first stages of planning and setup of EIT ICT Labs, the former brand name of EIT Digital, during his time as director of Generic Strategy, R&D and Innovation at Telia Sonera. He is assuming the role previously held by Gunnar Landgren, who left EIT Digital earlier this year.
