Over 90 bids for €25m satellite navigation call

The European Commission has announced the headline results for its 2015 Galileo call, which focuses on research in regards to the EU’s and the European Space Agency’s €5bn global navigation satellite system.

The €25m Horizon 2020 call, which closed on 8 April, received 91 proposals across its three research topics, namely ‘EGNSS applications’, which had 45 bids for funding; ‘Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) based EGNSS applications’, which obtained 31 proposals; and ‘Releasing the potential of EGNSS applications through international cooperation’, which accepted 15 tenders.

The call falls under the Industrial Leadership pillar and opened on 4 November 2014. The Commission will now proceed to choosing the research proposals that will receive funding.
