EIT establishes co-operation with European Police College

The European Police College (CEPOL) and the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) establishing forms of co-operation between the two bodies.

The MoU aims to increase it’s to collaboration between CEPOL and the EIT following the relocation of the Police College to Budapest, Hungary on 1 October. The agencies will support each other in the delivery of services, administration, logistics and exchange expertise and good practices to further improve their operations.

Speaking at the signing of the agreement at the EIT’s Budapest headquarters, Martin Kern, EIT Interim Director, said: “I am pleased that we seamlessly identified areas of common interest and have already established good working relationships that will undoubtedly be beneficial to both of our organisations.”

Adding his thoughts, Dr Ferenc Bánfi, CEPOL director, said: “I am very much looking forward to a fruitful working relationship between our two agencies.”

CEPOL was previously based in the United Kingdom and provides training and learning opportunities to senior police officers.
