Collagen Solutions report R&D progress

Collagen Solutions, which manufactures medical grade collagens in Glasgow, Scotland, has said its research and development (R&D) programme is making advancements in bone and wound healing.

Collagen Solutions says it is making progress on “multiple fronts” across its research and development programme.

The group manufactures medical grade collagens for use in regenerative medicine and medical devices.

It said trading in the first six months was in line with expectations, with revenue and other income forecast to be up around 30% to £1.9m (~€2.1m).

The group has also recently received an invitation to participate as an industrial collaborator for an upcoming Horizon 2020 project.

Chief executive Jamal Rushdy of Collagen Solutions said: “We completed hiring and training the additional direct sales channel personnel, in line with our strategy, with commercial managers now based in the USA, Korea and the UK, resulting in a more active pipeline of business within North America, Asia Pacific, and Europe, the Middle East and Africa [EMEA] respectively.

“In addition, our original equipment manufacturer [OEM] process improvements have been implemented, resulting in improved customer bid throughout.”

The company went on to report full-year revenues ahead of guidance at £3.24m on the back of acquisitions and investment in new products.
