Applications open for sustainable energy awards

Applications are now open for the EU Sustainable Energy Awards.

The awards recognise outstanding innovation in energy efficiency and renewables and highlight news ways to shape Europe’s energy future.

The competition is open to anyone in the EU involved in a recent project, be it a local initiative or an industry-wide programme, which could help citizens, industry and the public sector work towards the Energy Union.

Submissions are judged according to three categories: excellence in their area and innovation; measurable impact and contribution to the EU’s sustainable energy objectives; and replication potential and social acceptance.

The prize ceremony will take place in the European Commission’s Charlemagne building, Brussels, during the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) Policy Conference on 14-16 June. After the ceremony, the winners and runners up will have the opportunity to discuss their ideas with conference participants at a networking cocktail. Nominees will also present their projects at the conference’s Networking Village and on the EUSEW website.

Entries close on 22 February 2016. For more details and to apply, visit EUSEW.
