ERC awards UK’s University of Warwick several grants
The University of Warwick in the United Kingdom has announced that it has secured multiple grants from a prestigious European funding body.
The sociology, science and mathematics departments at the university have all secured Starting Grants from the European Research Council. Winners include Adrian Chaplin, who has funding for the ‘Entangled pincer ligand architectures and their application in the transition-metal-mediated activation of alkanes’ project; Józef Lewandowski, for the ‘Structural Dynamics of Protein Complexes by Solid-State NMR’ investigation; and Matthew Gibson, for the ‘Antifreeze GlycoProtein Mimetic Polymers’ study.
Also receiving funding is Dr Agelos Georgakopoulos, for his mathematical ‘Random Graph Geometry and Convergence’ investigation, and Dr Alice Mah for her sociology ‘Toxic Expertise: Environmental Justice and the Global Petrochemical Industry’.
