ERC closes calls for new FP7 funding
The European Research Council (ERC) has announced it is no longer accepting any more applications for funding under the Seventh Framework Programme.
In a statement, the ERC said: ‘As the EU’s Seventh Research Framework Programme will finish at the end of this year, the main ERC calls for proposals within FP7 are now closed. The next ERC calls will be made under the future programme, Horizon 2020, that will take over from FP7 for 2014 to 2020.’
However, the ERC warns that due to the delay in the implementation of Horizon 2020, the schedule for the ERC’s next calls and work programme is likely to differ to previous years. The organisation has already outlined the quarterly submission deadlines for Starting, Consolidator and Advanced grants in 2014, but added it hoped to publish a provisional schedule by the end of the year.
The ERC has also announced there will be no new calls for Synergy grants, which funds group investigative research, in 2013 and 2014. The normal schedule for Proof of Concept grants will take effective in 2014.
The ERC will receive an estimated budget of €13.2bn over seven years, an increase of 43% from FP7.
