First ERC grants under H2020 unveiled
The first grants from the European Research Council under Horizon 2020 have been announced.
Although provisional, the new Proof of Concept Grants will be published in December 2013 with deadlines in April and October 2014. Also published this year will be the Starting Grant and Consolidator Grant, with deadlines in March and May respectively. Published in June 2014 will be the first call for Advanced Grant applications, with the deadline in October 2014. Budgets for the grants will range between €15m and €713m. The number of grants available will be between 100 and 370.
Up to an additional €500,000 can also be requested in applicants’ proposals to cover eligible start-up costs for principal investigators moving to the EU, or an associated country from elsewhere, as a consequence of receiving the ERC grant and/or the purchase of major equipment and/or access to large facilities.
