EU calls for independent experts
The European Commission is calling for independent experts to analyse and evaluate Horizon 2020 proposals and projects.
The commission appoints experts to assist in other areas including project monitoring, mentoring and in the design and implementation of policies.
Applicant experts stand a better chance of selection if they meet criteria such as having a high level of expertise in relevant research and innovation fields, and are available for short-term assignments.
Assignments usually concern research and innovation, falling within the Horizon 2020 programme, designed to address the societal challenges faced by Europe through funding excellent science, industrial leadership, technology and innovation.
Business innovation coaches are also invited to assist in the support of SMEs funded through the SME instrument. A business innovation coach helps develop organisational capabilities, equipping H2020 candidates with the skills for commercial growth.
The call for experts to become business innovation coaches for the SME instrument is available on the EASME website.
The role of independent expert is a paid position. Applicants are invited to create a profile, visible only to the commission; consideration for candidacy and remuneration are only available to those with completed profiles.

Registered experts can complete or update their profile at any time accessing their own expert area.
