Brazil Competitive + to encourage SME support
Efficient Innovation Brazil, a consulting firm specialising in the management and financing of innovation, has announced it will join the Brazil Competitive + programme to encourage entrepreneurship, increase business competitiveness, and facilitate access to private growth capital to SMEs.
Efficient Innovation Brazil offers a range of services covering the entire lifecycle of innovation. According to managing partner Paul Chebat, investing in R&D is the most efficient way to face the competitive environment and is not a unique way of big business.
Currently, Brazilian companies, regardless of size, can participate in programmes fostering innovation in Brazil and also in some European programmes. For example, Brazilian companies who have invested in innovation can enjoy a tax waiver of up to 30% of expenditures in R&D and/or recieve finance worth up to 90% of their projects from Inova Brazil FINEP.
Brazilian companies are also able to participate in Horizon 2020 to encourage innovation for companies that have partnered Brazilian technological development with European institutions. However, due to the lack of legislation, programmes and technology management, most SMEs are not encouraged to invest in a culture of innovation or participate in fostering innovation programmes.
Efficient Innovation Brazil assists clients in finding financial resources, facilitating access to public funding lines for stimulating innovation, and allowing safe use of tax incentives.
