Horizon 2020 is “bridge” between EU and Pakistan
Deputy EU Ambassador to Pakistan, Pierre Mayaudon, and Pakistan Minister for Science and Technology, Zahid Hamid, have said that Horizon 2020 will be a “bridge” between Brussels and Islamabad.
They expressed their agreement at an awareness seminar on the research and innovation framework programme, organised jointly by the National University of Sciences and Technology and the EU. It’s expected that that Pakistan and the EU will benefit from scientific co-operation, including agriculture, energy, climate change and biotechnology.
Mayaudon said that Horizon 2020 could further enhance Pakistani integration into the world economy through more diversified and higher quality products and services. The framework programme could also provide longer term benefits, including job creation.
Hamid observed that the programme offers scientific and technological co-operation between Pakistan and the EU, as well as improved access to knowledge-based international markets.
