Inauguration of EU-China Research Centre
The Department of EU International Relations and Diplomacy Studies at the College of Europe, Bruges campus, has celebrated the inauguration of a new EU-China Research Centre.
The centre was funded by the InBev-Baillet Latour Fund and aims to accompany the rapidly developing relations between the EU and China by critical analysis and academic research. In particular, the centre seeks to undertake high-quality research from an interdisciplinary perspective on topics of major importance in the field of EU-China relations, as well as produce publications, organise conferences and promote co-operation between scholars specialised in EU-China studies.
The launch event included a welcome address by Professor Jörg Monar, rector of the College of Europe; a keynote speech by Victor Boştinaru MEP, vice chair of the Delegation for Relations with the People’s Republic of China; and a presentation of the centre’s objectives by Professor Jing Men, director of the EU-China Research Centre.
