Palestinian Ministry of Education hosts H2020 event

The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education has held a seminar on Horizon 2020 at Al-Quds Open University. The seminar was attended by professors from the university.

Fahoum Shalabi, assistant undersecretary for higher education affairs in the Ministry of Higher Education, provided a presentation on the EU research and innovation framework programme.

Shalabi provided information on 153 research calls recently published and covered more than 500 research subjects in different areas, including medicine, energy, food, agriculture, and transportation.

He said that a number of specialised workshops had been held at universities in Palestine to provide more detailed information to researchers.

Al-Quds Open University is the first open education university in the Arab World.
