Roadmap agreed for Pakistan H2020 participation
Brussels and Islamabad have agreed a roadmap to encourage greater participation by researchers in Pakistan, according to Customs Today.
The discussions between Stenfano Gatto, deputy head of EU delegation to Pakistan, and Professor Dr Muhammad Ashraf, chairman of the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), also included how to build a science bridge between the EU and Pakistan and how to create the PSF as a National Contact Point for the country’s Ministry of Science and Technology.
It is hoped that such a development will see the organisation of seminars to help increase knowledge and understanding of research collaboration with the EU, as well as encourage the submission of joint research proposals between Pakistani and European researchers. The events would be targeted at scientists, engineers and ‘technopreneurs’.
Ashraf also informed Gatto that the PSF would work together with both the EU Delegation to Pakistan and the ministry, as well as others, to spread information about Horizon 2020 through a series of events in the country. Such action, it’s understood, would help increase the knowledge of Horizon 2020.
