Europe prepares for Robotics Week 2014
Details have been released in anticipation for this year’s European Robotics Week.
The seven-day-long event, between 24 and 30 November, will offer the public highlights of robotic breakthroughs and aims to encourage students to pursue careers in STEM-related fields. More than 300 activities in 25 European countries will take place. There are also a series of school visits, lectures and guided tours taking place aimed at pupils, as well as open labs, exhibitions and challenges. A number of research centres, companies and universities are showcasing their developments.
The events are being organised and overseen by euRobotics AISBL (Association Internationale Sans But Lucratif), a European public private partnership association in robotics based in Brussels. The association builds upon the work of the European Robotics Technology Platform (EUROP) and the European Robotics Research Network, an academic and industrial common interest group. The first European Robotics Week took place in 2011 and has attracted over 100,000 people during the last three years.
