H2020 ICT work programme published
The European Commission has published the ICT draft work programme under Horizon 2020.
ICT, a Key Enabling Technology (KET), will form part of the Industrial Leadership pillar of the next framework programme, but will also play a role in all three areas of Horizon 2020, including Excellent Science and Societal Challenges.
According to the Luxembourg Portal for Innovation and Research, which published the draft programme, the call for topics will centre on: ‘A new generation of components and systems’; ‘Advanced computing’; ‘Future internet’; ‘Content technologies and information management’; ‘Robotics’; ‘Micro and nanoelectronic technologies and photonics’; ‘ICT cross-cutting activities’; and ‘Horizontal ICT innovation actions’.
The document is still yet to receive formal approval from the Commission. However, the calls have been approved by the ICT National Expert Group. The first calls under the replacement for FP7 are set to be announced during mid-December.
