ICT Labs set for major presence at Milan event
EIT ICT Labs is making key preparations for Expo Milano, due to be held in the city next year. The exhibition is set to promote the Italian city as a smart city.
The Knowledge and Innovation Community will showcase two projects at the exposition, namely 3cixty, launched this year to drive European leadership in future ICT-enabled urban life and mobility solutions, and the City Data Fusion, which aims to enhance data analysis in smart cities and deliver innovative services.
Visitors to the conference will be able to use digital technologies, multimedia totems and smartphones to enhance their smart city experience. The technologies and apps can also be used throughout Milan. It’s envisaged that the city will become an ideal experimental and showcase arena for projects which use ICT as a key innovation enabler.
The exhibition’s theme will be ‘feeding the planet and energy for life’, and it will take place from 1 May to 31 October 2015. Over 20 million people are expected to visit this major event.
