ITEA/ARTEMIS Co-summit opens in Berlin
The ARTEMIS Industry Association (IA) on Embedded and Cyber-Physical Systems, and ITEA 3 (the EUREKA Cluster on Software-intensive Systems and Services) Co-summit 2015 in Berlin, Germany, has opened, focusing on the importance of software innovation.
Under the event, the relationship between software innovation and smart industry, in order to drive forward the development of European industry in the future, will receive much attention.
Taking ‘Smart industry: impact of software innovation’ as its theme, speakers at the event include Dr-Ing Herbert Zeisel from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research; Dr Jutta Schneider, director of eDrive and software technologies at Daimler; and the European Commission’s Khalil Rouhana.
For delegates the event offers an opportunity to showcase progress made in projects and to network with others working in the sector. Over 800 people registered for the summit, and around 75 projects are being exhibited.
ITEA 3 and the ARTEMIS IA view the activities in this area as contributing to the European Commission’s target of increasing manufacturing’s share of value added in Europe from 15 to 20% by 2020. Through the work conducted by ITEA 3 and the ARTEMIS IA, the initiatives hope to also contribute to industrial competitiveness and raise the global profile of the industry.
The Co-summit is being supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, Daimler and Siemens.
