JRC releases online web platform on nanomaterials
The Joint Research Council (JRC) has released the first version of its online platform on nanomaterials.
Requests for access to relevant information has been prompted by factors including the use of nanomaterials in innovate applications and consumer products, the increasing amount of information on nanomaterials available online, and the significance of nanomaterial legislation.
This first release of the web platform comprises a number of links to internet-based information relevant to nanomaterials. It is a tool for a wide range of users, including the general public, and will be continually updated.
Currently, online information on nanomaterials is found across a range of different sources. Data is located on the websites of national and international organisations, governments, companies, consumer associations, academic institutions, trade unions, interest groups, and NGOs.
Visitors are encouraged to comment on the platform, to aid the process of further development. The JRC is already working on the next version, which will include information retrieval tools.
