EUREKA’s cluster calls aim to foster collaborative R&D
EUREKA, an intergovernmental organisation for market-driven industrial R&D, currently has several calls open for research and development projects within the Eureka clusters.
Clusters are one of EUREKA’s three funding instruments, and each one covers a specific industry sector, including water technology, software, telecommunications, clean energy, nano-electronics and integrated electronics. They are public private partnerships uniting major companies and national innovation agencies.
The currently open calls for Cluster projects are: ACQUEAU – EUREKA’s water tech Cluster’s project (which has a proposal deadline of 10 October, 2013); CELTIC Plus – this Cluster specialises in telecommunications, including smartphone and other Internet-based services (funding can be applied for from CELTIC Plus until 14 October, 2013); ITEA 2 – this is the European software industry’s spearhead, and potential project participants will be able to send their full project outlines until 31 October 2013; EUROGIA2020 – this cluster finances projects in clean energy (the next deadline for the submission of a project application is 15 November 2013); EURIPIDES² – this specialises in smart systems, which are electronic systems integrated into objects, vehicles, textiles or even human bodies (the next deadline for the submission of a project outline is 26 November 2013).
Eureka is a decentralised network facilitating the co-ordination of national funding on innovation aiming to boost the productivity and competitiveness of European industries. The network integrates over 40 pan-European economies, but also includes Israel, South Korea, and Canada.
