Latest SME scheme results announced
More than 140 small businesses have been selected to receive funding under Phase One of Horizon 2020’s SME Instrument.
The European Commission made the announcement of the latest SME Instrument beneficiaries, adding that businesses in 24 countries would benefit. The recipients were chosen following the evaluation of 1,873 applications that were received as part of the third 2015 cut-off date for the SME Instrument.
Amongst the latest 141 small and medium-sized enterprises receiving funding, Italy was the most successful, with 30 beneficiaries, followed by 24 businesses in Spain and 15 in the UK.
Since the scheme launch in 2014, 1,099 business have benefitted from Phase One of the instrument, which sees the Commission provide €50,000 in funding and business coaching to help the SME draft an initial business plan.
