Packaging material project receives H2020 funding
A project looking to introduce new packaging technology onto the market has received funding from Horizon 2020.
CLIPP+ will introduce cost-competitive, environmentally friendly recycled polyolefin films onto the market, which will be reused in non-food film packaging through an innovative technology based on previous EU project CLIPP. This Seventh Framework Programme-funded project demonstrated the effectiveness of sc-CO2 technology at removing the contaminants and unpleasant smells associated with this type of printed recycled plastic material.
CLIPP+ got underway in July following a meeting at AIMPLAS in Valencia, Spain. AIMPLAS has vast expertise in extrusion technology, polymers, biopolymers and renewable source materials, nanocomposites, and biotechnological processes.
The project has received funding under the Commission’s SME Instrument, which is dedicated to helping high-potential SMEs develop groundbreaking ideas for products, services or processes that are ready to face global market competition.
