299 applications submitted to Eurostars

It has been announced that 299 applications have been submitted to Eurostars for Horizon 2020 following the first deadline.

The near 300 applications involved 938 participants, 70% of which were SMEs. The total cost of applications amounted to €386m, 78% of which is borne by SMEs.

Applications included participation from 32 Eurostars countries, but interest in the programme also extended to Ukraine and South Korea, now officially a partner in the Eurostars programme.

The main technologies represented in the pool of submitted projects are biotech (33%), ICT (26%) and industrial manufacturing and transport (10%).
