Innovate UK sponsors Venturefest SW 2016
The UK’s national contact point for Horizon 2020, Innovate UK, is sponsoring this year’s Venturefest SW, which will be held in the city of Exeter on 18 October.
Venturefest South West showcases cutting-edge innovation and entrepreneurship coming out of the UK counties of Devon, Cornwall and Somerset. The event brings entrepreneurs, innovators and academics closer to businesses to share ideas, research and experience.
Keynote speakers, Q&A sessions and master classes from investors, market leaders and entrepreneurs will be available for participants. Venturefest SW also functions as a celebration of the south west of England’s innovators, as well as a facility for networking, collaboration and investment.
Chair of Venturefest SW Martin Brown said: “The region has a strong and growing reputation in technology innovation and this event is aimed at innovators and entrepreneurs, as well as investors who want to discover the next big things.
“Venturefests run across the UK so it’s only right that this region should host an event given the huge potential we have here. The event is all about collaboration, connecting with other people in the sector, learning and making links with potential investors. It is free to attend so accessible for those with start-up businesses or innovations.”
Entrepreneurs, start-up companies and SMEs are invited to apply for exhibitions to be displayed both inside and outside of the venue – Exeter’s Sandy Park rugby stadium.
Keynote speakers include the director of the National Centre for Ageing Science and Innovation at Newcastle University Professor Roy Sandbach, chief executive of UK Business Angels Association Jenny Tooth OBE, and director of SETsquared Monika Radclyffe.
