Geoghegan-Quinn to launch H2020 in Malta
Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, is to visit the Republic of Malta to help launch Horizon 2020.
The Commissioner was invited by the government in Valletta. Stefan Buontempo, the Parliamentary Secretary for Research, Innovation, Youth and Sport, told the Times of Malta that the government would “ensure” that businesses are fully engaged in the next research and innovation framework programme.
Buontempo added that through increased financial investment and greater collaboration in R&D, the EU member state would have a strong future.
Valletta has said it is committed to sustaining research investment in both the public and private sector.
