Hunt submits resignation to Commission
Nobel Prize winner Sir Tim Hunt has submitted his resignation to the European Commission to leave the European Research Council’s Scientific Committee.
In a Tweet sent by the ERC on Friday afternoon, the blue sky research body said: “Sir Tim Hunt informed @EU_Commission of his resignation as #ERC Scientific Council member.”
His resignation follows controversial comments made in the South Korean capital Seoul earlier this week regarding female scientists.
