JRC announces open day for Ispra site
The European Commission’s Joint Research Centre is allowing members of the public to explore its Ispra site in Italy once again.
An open day will take place on 4 May 2013 for the second time following a successful event in 2011 which saw 10,000 people walk through the centre’s doors. Máire Geoghegan-Quinn, the European Commissioner for Research, Innovation and Science, will formally open the event and will also inaugurate a new visitors’ centre.
Attendees will also be able to find out more information about the European Research Council.
The centre, near Lake Maggiore in northern Italy, is the third biggest site of the European Commission and is home to two thirds of the JRC’s staff.
