MEPs to debate first H2020 results
Discussions are set to centre on the first results of Horizon 2020 at the next meeting of the European Parliament’s Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) Committee.
The director general of DG Research and Innovation, Robert-Jan Smits, will provide MEPs with an overview of the initial outcomes of the EU research and innovation framework programme on the first day of the meeting that begins on Monday.
Also on Monday, the European Commission will provide an overview of the latest negotiations on the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership.
In addition, committee members will hear from the European Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy, Miguel Arias Cañete, on the Consultative Communication on Energy Market Design during the second day of proceedings.
MEPs will also undertake a series of votes during the meeting, including on ‘Towards a thriving data-driven economy’. A debriefing on ITRE’s visit to Expo Milano 2015 during June will also take place, as well as an overview of results from a mission visit to Denmark.
