UK’s TSB launches research gateway

The UK’s Technology Strategy Board has launched a new website that gives users access to the latest national innovative research projects.

The ‘Gateway to Research’ website has been developed by Research Councils UK and provides information about research and innovation supported by the UK’s seven Research Councils and the Technology Strategy Board. It’s hoped that SMEs in particular will find the site useful when looking for potential research collaborators for innovation projects.

Users can search for information on more than 42,000 projects from over 33,000 researchers, from maritime to metamaterials, from plastics to processes. The website will enable businesses to identify potential partners in research organisations.

‘Gateway to Research’ helps make the findings from the latest innovative research easily accessible to users in business, higher education institutes, charities, government, and members of the public.

Last year, David Willetts, UK Minister for Universities and Science, said: “Giving people the right to roam freely over publicly funded research will usher in a new era of academic discovery and collaboration, and will put the UK at the very forefront of open research.”
