Climate-KIC start-ups awarded at global forum

Climate-KIC start-ups ‘Efficient City Farming’ and ‘Eternal Sun’ have won a Global Ideas Award at the Cleantech Open Global Forum in California, United States.

The start-ups are currently visiting Silicon Valley as part of Climate-KIC’s 2013 Start-up Tour and were given the chance to present themselves to the highly valuable network of the Cleantech Open accelerator. Both companies won the award for most promising start-up in their respective categories.

Eternal Sun founder Chokri Mousaoui said: “Winning this award is just a great acknowledgement. Not only will it open the right doors for us, the Cleantech Open is internationally known as the most prestigious clean-tech award.”

In front of a room full of American venture capitalists and clean-tech experts, Eternal Sun and Efficient City Farming pitched the products and developments of their companies and their future chances. Eternal Sun develops innovative solar simulation systems which enable customers from various industries to accurately test the performance and reliability of their products. Efficient City Farming‘s aquaponic farm systems enable the efficient production of high quality vegetables and fish.
