Commission opens female innovation call
The European Commission has begun accepting research proposals for the ‘EU Prize for Women Innovators’.
The call opened on 10 March and runs until 20 October 2015. The total budget available is €180,000 and funding is drawn from the ‘Science with and for Society’ cross-cutting pillar.
According to the Commission, the awards “recognise and celebrate women who have benefitted from EU funding related to research and innovation, and who have combined their scientific excellence with an aptitude for business in setting up innovative enterprises and brought innovations to the market”.
Three prizes are available under the call – the first prize is worth €100,000, the second prize is €50,000, and the third prize is €30,000. The call opens following a working lunch held earlier this week where European Commissioner for Research, Science and Innovation Carlos Moedas announced the third run of the prize.
