Creţu to attend EBN annual conference
It has been announced that European Commissioner Corina Creţu will address the EBN Congress 2015.
The commissioner in charge of regional policy will join over 400 delegates from over 40 countries to discuss ‘New Frontiers for Innovative Entrepreneurs’. The conference will take place in Brussels between 28-30 October at the Albert Hall.
Commenting, Creţu said: “I am very proud to be present at this year’s EBN Congress. In the last year alone the EBN network has supported, through its members, 6,300 start-ups and has created 13,500 jobs across Europe. In a time of economic imbalance we need more initiatives like this to provide the support our entrepreneurs need to grow internationally.”
According to the EBN, Europe’s current economic challenges are offering opportunities to entrepreneurs who can exploit their skills at the frontiers of digitisation, technology, society, environment and globalisation. The EBN, a network of around 150 quality-certified EU business and innovation centres (BICs) and 100 other organisations, helps to support the development of entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs.
This year’s EBN Congress focuses on where entrepreneurial opportunities lie, efforts at overcoming barriers, how BICs are assisting with such activities, and learning from the ecosystem. The conference will also celebrate the successes of some of the most innovative frontier businesses.
