Dublin to host Open Innovation 2.0 conference
The Irish capital is preparing to host a major innovation conference and will tonight present the second annual Innovation Luminary Awards.
The Open Innovation 2.0 2014 conference, to be attended by Horizon 2020 Projects, will take place over the next two days in Dublin. The winners of this year’s Luminary Awards, due to be announced at a gala dinner tonight at Dublin City Hall, will be followed by a one-day conference at The Convention Centre on Thursday.
Speaking ahead of the event, Professor Martin Curley, vice president of Intel Corporation and director of Intel Labs Europe, said: “This conference is a wonderful opportunity to bring together like-minded innovators to co-create a new innovation ecosystem to better enable the quadruple helix of government, industry, academia and the general public to collaborate together for better progress. Last year, the conference generated fantastic results and we’ve really seen impressive forward movements in Europe in the last twelve months with regard to innovation progress and adoption.”
The conference will focus on the progress made following last year’s event and will discuss new approaches to innovation adoption based on open business models. The event will bring together thought leaders, businesspeople, academics and researchers and the topics set for discussion include: ‘Open Innovation 2.0 in Theory and Action’; ‘Living the Dublin Innovation Declaration’, ‘Internet of Everything and Smart Cities’, ‘Innovation and Entrepreneurship’ and ‘Innovation through the Crowd!’
The event is brought to Dublin in collaboration with the European Commission, the Open Innovation and Strategy Policy Group, Intel Labs Europe and Dublin City Council. Special coverage of the conference will be available in the July edition of Portal.
