Registration opens for open innovation event
Details have been released for this year’s Open Innovation 2.0 (OI2.0) conference, this year to be held in Finland.
The conference takes place 8-9 June 2015 in Espoo, the country’s second largest city. OI2.0 2015 is being organised by Intel Labs Europe and the Open Innovation Group in DG CONNECT, part of the European Commission. The event will bring together leading innovation experts, thought leaders, high level decision makers and entrepreneurial practitioners. The conference is also being supported by Aalto University, located in the capital Helsinki, the City of Espoo and other partners.
OI2.0 2015 builds upon the two previous conferences held in the Irish capital Dublin in 2013 and 2014. The inaugural event saw the announcement of the Dublin Innovation Declaration and the follow-up conference considered the progress made on its implementation, as well as debated new approaches in innovation based on open business models.
The Dublin Declaration is partly based on Quadruple Helix Innovation model, bringing together university, industry, government and the citizen to develop new ideas, drive structural change, encourage collaboration and creating frictionless innovation ecosystems.
The event will be preceded by the Aalto Camp for Societal Innovation (ACSI), which takes place over three days beginning on 5 June. The initiative sees multidisciplinary groups developing new ideas and perspectives to tackle real-world challenges that are brought to the event by cities, businesses, universities and NGOs.
