Last call for bioeconomy, blue growth and sustainable food security
The European Commission will close calls on three topics on the bioeconomy on Thursday.
Together the calls represent €29.5m of research funding, with the significant majority of money going to the ‘Innovative, sustainable and inclusive bioeconomy’ call. This €27m call has five topics, including ‘Closing the research and innovation divide: the crucial role of innovation support services and knowledge exchange’, ‘Biomarkers for nutrition and health’ and ‘Coordination action in support of the implementation by participating States of a Joint Programming Initiative on ‘A Healthy Diet for a Healthy Life’’.
The €2m ‘Blue growth: unlocking the potential of seas and oceans’ will also be accepting the last proposals. Funding is directed exclusively towards the ‘Coordination action in support of the implementation of the Joint Programming Initiative on ‘Healthy and Productive Seas and Oceans’’ topic.
The final call which closes on Thursday is ‘Sustainable food security’, which again has one topic. The call has a budget of €500,000 and financing is directed towards ‘Authentication of food products’.
The three calls began accepting research proposals on 25 July 2014.
