Climate-KIC’s Greenhouse programme supports fledgling start-ups
Climate-KIC is offering a special pre-incubation programme, the Greenhouse, to new entrepreneurs who have an idea and the motivation to make it happen in the future, but are not yet ready.
Climate-KIC said they believe that entrepreneurial thinking must be fostered, which is why the Greenhouse programme was created. The scheme is open to individuals, groups, young students, advanced professionals, or experienced researchers from any country. Climate-KIC has called the Greenhouse “a sheltered step for those who are still dedicated to their studies or working but see a budding future in entrepreneurship”.
Climate-KIC offers selected projects up to €5,000, and helps them transform their climate innovation ideas into sustainable business models and marketable products or services. The Greenhouse aims to provide an informal and flexible environment to assess the market potential of business ideas and develop business models.
Those interested in setting up real start-ups will be supported with special programmes to instigate successful entrepreneurial careers. Applications can be submitted until 15 May 2014. All ideas are welcome, however Climate-KIC operates around key themes concerning climate change mitigation and adaptation, including sustainable city systems, greenhouse gas monitoring, and bioeconomy.
