Incubator accepts ideas for ClimateLaunchpad
An incubator at the University of Malta has announced that it has begun accepting applications for cleantech ideas as part of a European competition aimed at tackling climate change.
The TAKEOFF Business Incubator has said it is ready to receive proposals for the ClimateLaunchpad competition of Climate-KIC, which is open for entries in 23 countries. The contest encourages students, start-ups, entrepreneurs, researchers and employees who have the aspiration of starting their own business to submit their cleantech ideas.
Entries are then judged on their impact on climate change, growth potential, skills and enthusiasm, with the most promising entries gaining access to the Climate-KIC Accelerator, which is geared at growing big cleantech ideas into strong businesses. Climate-KIC is the EU’s main climate innovation initiative and is Europe’s largest public private innovation partnership focused on mitigating and adapting to climate change.
The overall winner of the European final also receives a cash prize of €10,000, whilst the runner up gets €5,000, and the idea that comes in third place wins €2,500.
The deadline for applications for ClimateLaunchpad 2015 is 12 June.
