New start-ups join UK Climate-KIC Accelerator
Seven new start-ups have joined Climate-KIC’s UK Accelerator programme.
The organisations joining the scheme were selected after successfully making it through the scheme’s application round following its latest call. Start-ups include CO2i, which reduces the quantity of water required to generate biomass; Design by Sol, which is behind a bioreactive food expiry label; Desolenator, which has developed a specialised water purification system using the power of the sun; and Eddy Labs, which is behind a smart home device that detects events through sound.
The start-ups will now receive business coaching and undertake masterclasses to help bring their product to market, as well as enter Climate-KIC’s national Venture Competition. The national final of the Venture Competition will take place later this year and includes the chance to obtain €20,000 in funding and a place in the European Climate-KIC final.
The current call deadline for start-ups wishing to enter UK Climate-KIC’s Accelerator programme is 8 March 2015; more information can be found here.
