Three Bulgarian start-ups head to clean-tech competition final
Three of Bulgaria’s most exciting clean-tech start-ups are set to represent the country at the ‘Eurovision of clean-tech’ in September.
Last month in Sofia, Bulgaria, the teams behind MAKE Insulation, TICKEY and MCube won the Bulgarian rounds of ClimateLaunchpad, Europe’s largest clean-tech business idea competition.
First prize went to the team behind MAKE Insulation, who developed and patented an insulation technology that delivers never before seen results. Insulation can be produced on location, and the method of application and installation does not include perforation of façade and excludes significant loading of building construction.
MAKE Insulation offers a service for the production and installation of composite panels based on rigid PUR foam to companies that already do thermal insulation of buildings in order to upgrade them. Benefits of the technology include a doubling of customer productivity, no capital investment, an increase in sales, and reduced cost.
TICKEY, a convenient, eco-friendly mobile ticketing app that allows you to pay fares for public transport, was awarded second place.
Third place meanwhile went to MCube, a system for remote monitoring and control of electrical appliances through a website or mobile application for Android and iOS. It was developed by MTechnologies and consists of an MRouter, MCube and the mobile app. The МRouter connects to a maximum of ten Cubes, the router to the internet, and the system features options such as: metering of electricity consumption in real-time function; compiling of electricity receipts according to customer-defined criteria; passive security against fire and home invasion; and temperature sensor.
The European ClimateLaunchpad final will be held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 4 September.
