Nottingham University benefits from major H2020 funding

The UK’s University of Nottingham has secured a significant grant from Horizon 2020.

Researchers in the university’s power electronics unit, machines and control group and architecture and built environment department collectively secured €1m out of the €15m total project grant awarded by the European Commission.

The investigation, which is being led by Siemens, is entitled ‘Storage Enabled Sustainable Energy for Buildings and Communities’ and focuses on tackling energy storage in homes and the local community. The project will consider both thermal energy and the socioeconomic benefits that can be gained. The university has said it will working with city residents in order to integrate energy storage solutions.
