Austrian Centre for Social Innovation benefits from H2020 funding
The Austrian Centre for Social Innovation (ZSI) is celebrating as it collaborates in three projects receiving funding under Horizon 2020, including one that the organisation is co-ordinating. ZSI is currently one of only 27 project co-ordinators in Austria so far.
Beginning this year is a project entitled ‘Supporting & Promoting Responsible Research and Innovation in ICT research’, or RRI-ICT Forum. The project, which runs for 36 months, hopes to assess and promote the use of social sciences and humanities in ICT research and innovation under Horizon 2020, as well as responsible research and innovation.
Investigations in this project will involve the interaction with RRI and SSH projects, the development of an online platform dedicated to RRI in ICT, and encourage multidisciplinary networking. Annual reports of findings will also be composed, collating the findings of the project and highlighting best practices.
Also receiving money under Horizon 2020 is the ‘Tools and Actions for Impact Assessment and Policy makers Information’ project (TAIPI). The three-year Co-ordination and Support Action supports the work of the two FET Flagship Projects and assesses the impact of the Graphene Project and the Human Brain Project. TAIPI will also collect information required by policy makers regarding the FET Flagships and the FET programme. The data will be gathered through consultations and surveys.
The final project being funded is the ‘Black Sea Horizon’, which focuses on supporting bi-regional collaboration in science technology and innovation between the EU member states and countries surrounding the Black Sea. The project is co-ordinated by ZSI and aims to increase the EU’s economic competitiveness. It is receiving funding worth nearly €1.5m and runs for 36 months.
