Solar cell project gains H2020 funding

A project focusing on perovskite solar cells (PSC) has secured €3m in funding from Horizon 2020.

The GOTSolar project focuses on scaling up the PSC in addition to addressing issues regarding sealing glass and steel hybrid substrate-based solar panels. The venture also aims to adjust laser-assisted, glass frit sealing technology in order to develop long-life steel roofing products.

The project consortium includes the participation of Dyesol UK Ltd, which will receive €650,000 from the European Commission grant. Other project partners are located in Portugal, namely the University of Porto and electromechanics firm Efacec; Switzerland’s EPFL; and the Institute of Physical Chemistry at the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poland.

Also participating is the National Center for Scientific Research in France and the University of Ulm in Germany.
