EU and Japan urged to collaborate in green energy research

A seminar will take place next week in Tokyo encouraging closer collaboration between Japanese and EU researchers in the area of renewable energy.

The event, entitled ‘EU-Japan co-operation in wind and other renewable energies through Horizon 2020’, takes places against the backdrop of the creation of the new European Energy Union. Organised by the EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Co-operation, the seminar includes the participation of FP7 beneficiaries. The researchers will provide an insight into wind and other renewable energy development projects that have taken place under European Commission framework programmes.

Information will also be given regarding current and upcoming Horizon 2020 calls, as well as how Japanese researchers can become involved in the current research and innovation framework programme. The audience will also receive a presentation on international collaboration in precompetitive R&D from an industrial perspective.

The seminar takes place as part of Wind Expo 2015 during Smart Energy Week 2015, Japan’s largest research and science fair for renewable energies. The event is held on 25 February 2015 and more information can be found here.
