EU, Korea develop closer industrial dialogue

The EU and South Korea have announced an agreement for a new platform for industrial policy dialogue.

The new venture is aimed at strengthening the relationship between the EU and Korea, particularly SMEs. Earlier this year it was announced that Korea would be participating in the joint EU-EUREKA Eurostars 2 programme, funded by Horizon 2020. South Korea is ‘associated’ to the joint programme. The new policy dialogue platform aims to increase the international competitiveness of SMEs in both Europe and Korea.

South Korea joined the EUREKA network in 2009 and is represented by the Korean Institute for the Advancement of Technology. EUREKA also works closely with the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in the area of international innovation.
