Students respond to business challenges

International students have come together in London, UK, to face challenges set by companies such as Intel and EIT Digital supported scale-up, Soma Analytics.

The London Summer School focuses on health and wellbeing this year as part of an annual pan-European programme.

Jonny Hancox, Health and Life Sciences Group at Intel, said: “Successful companies rely on having markets for which their products are relevant. Therefore, it is essential to have boots on the ground – teams who work with scientists, researchers, clinicians and tech start-ups to help support their activities with great computing experiences. In this way, Intel supporting EIT Digital events benefits everyone because it helps encourage the next wave of technological innovation, whilst also ensuring that computing technology is tuned to modern workloads.”

The school encourages both EIT Digital Master School students and external entrants from academia and industry to apply their skills and experiences of the wellbeing market, developing a better understanding of how ideas become viable commercial solutions.

UK director of EIT Digital Dennis Moynihan added: “We’re thrilled to host this diverse, creative, and vibrant set of students at this year’s London Health and Wellbeing Summer School. Having met the attendees, I’m confident that we’re looking at entrepreneurial leaders of tomorrow. On behalf of my EIT Digital colleagues, we’re proud we can play a role in shaping their future. EIT Digital is committed to helping learners build innovation and entrepreneurial skills, not only to create great opportunities for individuals but also to help ensure a strong pool of technical talent for cutting-edge European companies.”

EIT Digital contributes to the EU’s Horizon 2020 principles by addressing societal challenges and funding innovation.
