Italian research body celebrates H2020 success

An Italian research centre has secured funding from Horizon 2020 for an ICT project.

The Fondazione Bruno Kessler in Trento has secured €3m in funding for ICT research, part of the Industrial Leadership pillar.

Speaking about the grant success, project leader Paolo Traverso commented: “This result is important, not only for a matter of funding, but also because it confirms the excellence of our scientific work at European level. Internationalisation is vital and we keep in mind this aspect, involving, at the same time, local participants in our projects, such as the city of Trento, who will participate in the project as part of the ‘Smart Communities WeLive’. The goal is to create a platform to collect and realise the ideas of citizens turning them into real services offered by the city of Trento.”

A core aim of the ‘Industrial Leadership’ pillar is to enhance Europe’s competitiveness compared to the USA and Asia.
