Network encourages SME participation in H2020

The head of the UK’s Nanotechnology Knowledge Transfer Network (NanoKTN) has announced his support for Horizon 2020.

The body is encouraging SMEs to take part in the next EU framework programme for research and innovation. NanoKTN is a knowledge-based micro and nanotechnologies network in the UK.

Speaking to AZoNetwork, Alec Reader, a director at the NanoKTN, said: “Horizon 2020 aims to tackle societal challenges by helping to bridge the gap between research and commercial organisations, helping innovative enterprises to develop their technological breakthroughs into viable products with real commercial potential.  We would urge all UK SMEs to get involved and gain access to the funds available to help their businesses grow.”

NanoKTN, which was created by the UK’s Technology Strategy Board and is managed by Centre for Process Innovation Ltd, helps facilitate the transfer of knowledge and experience between industry and research and offers businesses access to information on new processes, patents and funding. The body focuses on promoting and facilitating knowledge exchange, supporting the growth of UK capabilities, raising awareness of nanotechnology and providing thought leadership and input to national policy and strategy.
