Neurodegenerative joint programme to announce funding call
The Joint Programme Neurodegenerative Disease Research (JPND) is set to announce its first co-operative call with Horizon 2020 in January.
The transnational call will focus on three topics aimed at supporting research in three of the Joint Programme’s priority areas, namely longitudinal cohorts, advanced experimental models and risk and protective factors. A total of €30m of funding will be on offer to researchers from JPND member countries. The financial package will be increased by up to 30% through funding from the European Commission. It is envisaged that a number of high-level, cross-disciplinary, collaborative research funding projects will be funded.
Full details will be announced in the New Year, with the first call deadlines expected in March. The JPND focuses on Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, Parkinson’s disease and related disorders, prion disease, motor neurone diseases, Huntington’s disease, spinocerebellar ataxia, and spinal muscular atrophy.
